Residency Permit as Qualified Professional, article 71 of the Spanish Law 14/2013 September 27, concerning entrepreneurship support and internationalization

This type of Residency Permit appeared with the new Spanish Law of Entrepreneurs 14/2013 of September 27, which was created to support entrepreneurs and their internationalization. The required paperwork is simpler than in the case of the Work permit established by the general immigration legal scheme (4/2000) and its regulation (RD 557/2011). Furthermore, the resolution commitment on the authorities’ behalf is just 20 working days, like in all types of residency permits granted by the new law.

Another important addition is the option offered to foreign employees: they may apply for a residency permit while being already in Spain. Obviously, they can also stay in their home country and obtain a visa once the residency permit has been granted. This via is quite interesting due to the effectiveness and flexibility of the necessary paperwork. Please contact us, we will inform you on the whole procedure.

This via offers the possibility of hiring the foreigner as employee of a company or, signing a commercial contract, which may be easier in some cases.

Their family will be able to enter Spain thanks to the simultaneous grant of their residency permits, although they might also request it after their arrival in Spain.
